Energima Racing Joins the UIM XCAT Circuit with New Team and Exciting Season Ahead

Our team is no stranger to powerboat racing. After supporting Swecat in Boat 2 last year, we are thrilled to officially join the UIM XCAT circuit this season with a brand-new team in collaboration with our main sponsor, Energima. Introducing Energima Racing—a team built on passion, experience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence on the water.

Leading the charge once again is Team Captain Erik Sundblad Johansen, whose leadership and expertise continue to be an invaluable asset to the team. This year, we are proud to welcome F1 veteran Marit Strømøy as our Pilot. With over 20 years of experience in the F1 circuit, Marit made her official offshore debut in the first race of the UIM XCAT World Cup in Fujairah on February 14th. We are beyond excited to have her onboard and look forward to seeing her talent in action throughout the season.

Returning from last year is our trusted mechanic, Andre Strand, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in UIM’s 3C class. Joining him this season is Arne Mannes, who steps in as our second mechanic, further strengthening our technical team. Another key addition is Lars Inge Graver, who brings a wealth of experience to Energima Racing as Team Manager.

To kick off the season, we competed with a loaner boat while our new racing vessel remains in production. As expected, the loaner boat wasn’t able to match the top contenders of the World Cup, but despite the challenges, our team delivered an impressive performance—securing an outstanding 6th place overall in the competition. Given the circumstances, this result is a testament to the skill, determination, and teamwork of our incredible crew.

Now, our focus shifts to the upcoming Round 2 in Kuwait this October, where we aim to hit the waters with our brand-new racing boat. Preparations are in full swing, and we are eager to push the limits and compete at the highest level.
